Chief Craig Taylor City of Nisswa Police Department
Originally from Crosby, Chief Taylor joined the Nisswa Police Department at it's inception in 1996. Taylor, who also served as the Nisswa Police Department's sergeant from 1999-2000, was sworn in as police chief on September 23, 2000. Prior to working with the Nisswa Police Department, he was a patrol office in Bullhead City Arizona as well as the Breezy Point Police Department and Crow Wing County Water Patrol Division. Chief Taylor graduated high school in Crosby, MN and graduated from Moorhead State University with a B.A. degree in Criminal Justice.
Taylor's goals for the department include officer training and retention, having officers present in the school and preventing crimes against the elderly. Taylor says the key for the Nisswa Police Department is to prepare for the future. "Nisswa isn't just a seasonal city any more, and like most of Crow Wing County, Nisswa will be growing in the next 15 years."
Officer Brandon Rothwell City of Nisswa Police Department
Officer Brandon Rothwell joined the Nisswa Police Department in January 2002. He is a graduate of Crosby-Ironton High School and graduated Central Lakes College with a degree in Criminal Justice in 2001.
Officer Luke Hall City of Nisswa Police Department
Officer Hall started with the Nisswa Police Department in February 2016. Officer Hall graduated from Rockford High School in 2008. Officer Hall received an associates degree from Central Lakes College in Brainerd, MN and a bachelors degree from North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND.
Officer Jeremy Rooney City of Nisswa Police Department
Officer Rooney, a Brainerd Lakes Area native, graduated from Central Lakes College in 2011 with an A.A.S. in Criminal Justice. Officer Rooney worked in Private Security and Juvenile Corrections prior to starting his law enforcement career with the City of Pelican Rapids Police Department in west central Minnesota. Officer Rooney joined the Nisswa Police Department in November 2016; Officer Rooney has also served on the Minnesota Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force since January 2018.
Officer Todd Szymanski City of Nisswa Police Department
I grew up in the Pequot Lakes area and graduated from Pequot Lakes High School where I played hockey and baseball. I went on to Central Lakes College and earned a degree in criminal justice. I worked full time at the Crow Wing County Jail for six years and part time with the Breezy Point Police Department for four years before joining The Nisswa Police Department in July of 2017. I enjoy family, hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities.
Officer Conner Collette City of Nisswa Police Department
I grew up in the Brainerd Lakes Area, graduated from Brainerd High School and then from Central Lakes College with an associate's degree in Law Enforcement. I worked for the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office in Boat and Water division and then worked as a Police Officer for the Pine River Police Department prior to working for the Nisswa Police Department in March of 2019.
